Mark Maguire is Head of the Department of Anthropology, National University of Ireland Maynooth. He has twice held visiting professorships in Stanford University, California. He is Editor-in-Chief of Social Anthropology, the professional journal in his discipline in Europe. He is also co-editor of The Anthropology of Security (Pluto Books, 2014). He is researching the ways in which security and techno-science work on the ground and how people actually experience security.
