Biography

Dr. Mustafa Abu Sway earned his BA from Bethlehem University, and MA and PhD from and Boston College, USA. He has taught at the International Islamic University-Malaysia, and was a visiting Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at Wilkes Honors College in Florida Atlantic University, as well as a visiting professor of Islamic Studies at Bard College, NY. He is currently Professor of Philosophy and Islamic Studies, and Director, Islamic Research Center at Al-Quds University in Jerusalem, Palestine. Among his works are two books: Islamic Epistemology: The Case of Al-Ghazzali, and Fatawa Al-Ghazzali (International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization). Dr. Abu Sway is very active in interfaith dialogue for many years advocating convivencia and a “theology of soft-otherness”. He has also participated in international conferences and published numerous papers on contemporary issues involving Islam and Muslims, including the Palestinian Issue. Abu Sway has appeared on TV shows on Al-Jazeera, BBC, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and others.
