Dr. Christian Leipe is a Scientific Assistant at the Institute of Geological Sciences at Freie Universität Berlin and former BHAP doctoral student. His research interests are mainly focused on palynological studies in order to reconstruct postglacial dynamics in vegetation and climate and to understand human-environment interactions in Monsoon Asia. He is currently investigating the spatio-temporal patterns of archaeological sites in northern Japan (photo by Jan Evers).
