Elena Bezrukova is the Principal Researcher at the Russian Academy of Sciences. Her expertise includes climate dynamics during the Pleistocene (glacial-interglacial cycles) and Holocene (10,000 years) with special focus on abrupt climatic events at high latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere. She examines lake sediments, glacial ice cores, and pollen. For our project, she will be involved in Baikal high-resolution pollen analysis and Hokkaido high-resolution regional-scale reconstructions of Holocene plant and animals communities.
