Hajime Ishida is a professor at the Graduate School of Medicine of the University of the Ryukyus, Japan. His research interests are morphological and physical anthropology. In the past, he has worked on Neanderthal morphology and reconstruction of medieval peoples' lifeways. For our project, he will be looking at paleodemography, health, and adaptation to cold climate based on postcranial skeletal morphology.
