We have chosen the Program name carefully to reflect our major interests in the distinct yet related activities of writing and reading. This combination is not widely explored in existing web-based projects devoted to women's writing. Our deliberate decision to avoid the possessive form (women's) emphasizes the active, present, engaged undertakings of writing and reading.
