Prior to 1967, the site was a collection of smaller buildings, linked by walkways and utility infrastructure.
In 1967, the main hospital building was demolished and patients were moved into the new structure.
The building was open for fewer than 30 years before the Klein cuts saw it close in 1996. It has stood empty ever since.
