How do you imagine your first story, educational experience, or game in augmented reality?  SnapDragonAR is an extremely easy-to-use drag-and drop AR authoring tool developed at the Augmented Reality Lab at York University.   Developed in 2006, SnapdragonAR remains the fastest software for building your very first AR prototype using nothing more than video and image files. It’s a great application for children, for the creation of assignments for the digital humanities classroom,  and to pre-visualize more complex AR experiences.  It will only take 15 minutes to learn to use it, so you can move beyond technical details to think about what constitutes a compelling story in augmented reality.  When might you use it? What is the user experience like?  The authoring experience? How could AR enhance your classroom or art? Bring a memory key with videos and/or images, or work with found footage, assets and models to build a working demo.  Participants will leave with either a simple finished work or a working prototype that might assist in imagining a larger project.  We will also discuss workflows developed in the lab and some of our current projects and tools. Join us for an introduction to AR and for a participatory software introduction.
