Prodigal Son Returns!

August 16, 2013

An update from our own Cameron Robertson, former BAP Master's student, below:

Prodigal Son Returns!

Cameron Robertson, one of our BHAP alumni, visited the field school on Rebun this summer. He got reacquainted with the evolving work of the project and gave a presentation on what it means to be a consulting archaeologist (a.k.a. life after Andrzej).

Cam was a student with the Baikal Archaeology Project in Siberia in 2001 and returned as a teaching assistant in 2003, when he was undertaking his Master's research. Cam has been working as an archaeologist for the last few years in Australia and the South Pacific and was on en route back to Canada with his wife Carmen when they dropped in on the excavation for a few days.

Highlights included excavating some incredible material, catching up with old friends and making new friends, hiking across the island, the street festival, and the all you can eat and drink specials at the local pub - nomi hodai!

Cam's photos of the work and shenanigans from Rebun Island below:
