Flintknapping Club University of Alberta February 24, 2012 Sean Lynch, BHAP Master's student, has organized a Flintknapping Club through the Department of Anthropology at University of Alberta. This club is designed to provide a grassroots forum through which experimental approaches for interpreting the archaeological record can be explored. Experimental archaeology allows researchers to work backwards and forwards from the archaeological record, by emulating the processes of material culture production that were potentially used in prehistory. Anyone is welcome to join! Whether you are a seasoned knapper, or have never heard of flintknapping, this club will help you to start thinking about human prehistory in a variety of ways through a hands-on engagement with stone tool production and analysis.
