Mareike Schmidt presents poster on modern and fossil diatom assemblages from Lake Kushu, Rebun Island at 9th Central European Diatom Meeting, Bremerhaven

Mareike Schmidt, BHAP PhD student, recently presented a poster on her preliminary results from the modern and fossil diatom assemblages from Lake Kushu, Rebun Island at the 9th Central European Diatom Meeting - 50 years Hustedt collection. The meeting was held in Bremerhaven, Germany from March 10-13, 2015.
The meeting was organized to honor the 50th anniversary of the Hustedt Diatom Study Centre presently housed at the Alfred Wegener Institut in Bremerhaven. The private collection of Friedrich Hustedt is one of the largest diatom reference collections in the world. Over 80 diatomists from all over Europe, as well as the USA and Asia, participated in the meeting.
Mareike presented a poster of her preliminary results from the modern and fossil diatom assemblages collected from Lake Kushu, Rebun Island.
