December 8, 2017
Thank you to Dr. Pavel Tarasov, Freie Universität, Berlin, for sharing the following great news about his students below!:
Here is some good news for the end of the year 2017. Two of my students at the Freie Universität Berlin successfully defended their thesis using BHAP material and contributing to the BHAP activities.
Konrad Seyfert defended his Bachelor Thesis with the final Note 1.7 ("Very good"). His aim was constructing Regional Atlas of fossil Pollen und Spores using Late-glacial and Holocene sediment samples from Lake Kushu (Rebun Island, Japan).
Konrad Hille defended his Master Thesis also with the final Note 1.7 ("Very good"). The title of the thesis was "Palaeobotanical analysis of prehistoric and early historic cultural layers of the Hamanaka 2 archaeological site on Rebun Island, Hokkaido Region, northern Japan".
Results of both students provide a valuable contribution to the current project and will be used in upcoming publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Mareike Schmidt has returned to the University after her maternal leave and is working hard on finalizing her PhD thesis.
Congratulations to Dr. Tarasov and his students on their outstanding work!
